Since you responded to our last request on 18th October 2019, we understand that the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance Definition of Antisemitism (‘IHRA Definition’) was adopted by Scarborough Borough Council on 4th January 2021. It is not clear from the minutes if adoption included the illustrative examples. See antisemitism.org/definition for more information about the IHRA Definition and the IHRA statement on the integrality of the examples.

International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of Antisemitism
Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities. We the undersigned ask that our council adopts the above without delay. The definition should be interpreted to cover all forms of persecution carried out since 1933, not exclusively the atrocities carried out against the Jewish communities around Europe. Recent conflicts in Syria, Rwanda, Darfur, Iraq and Yemen show that the lessons that should have been learnt since the Second World War have not been. We need to show all of our diverse communities that they are valued and deserve respect. The text refers to further examples of antisemitism outside Europe.
