Chair: David Kerfoot MEB DL
Chair, York, North Yorkshire & East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership

David is a passionate social entrepreneur who founded The Kerfoot Group in 1980 which grew to sales of over £80 million on a global basis exporting to over 50 countries before being sold to Avril in 2015. Current Chairman of the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding LEP, David is also Deputy Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire and the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire for 2020/21.

James joined the team at the LEP from Yorkshire Forward.

 

Cllr Steve Siddons
Leader, Scarborough Borough Council

Cllr Steve Siddons is a Labour councillor representing the Weaponess and Ramshill ward. Cllr Siddons was appointed Leader of the Council in 2019 and holds a number of appointments to outside bodies including the YNYER LEP and British Ports Association.

 

Mike Greene
Chief Executive, Scarborough Borough Council

Mike was appointed Chief Executive of Scarborough Borough Council in 2019. Previously, Mike worked as Assistant Director for Neighbourhood and Customer Services at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and has worked in senior roles in West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.

 

RT HON Robert Goodwill MP

Robert is the MP for the Scarborough and Whitby constituency.

 

Richard Flinton
Chief Executive, North Yorkshire County Council

Richard has worked for North Yorkshire County Council for 33years, the last 10 of which have been as Chief Executive. Richard was born in North Yorkshire and attended school and college in Scarborough.

 

David Stone
Totally Socially Manager, Coast and Vale Community Action

Coast and Vale Community Action (CaVCA) is a local voluntary community services organisation supporting communities to thrive. David is Co-ordinator of the Totally Socially project which is an initiative to support individuals and groups in local communities to turn their ideas into action.

 

Rosie Du-Rose
Chief Executive, Beyond Housing

Beyond Housing is the Borough’s largest RSL and serves customers in more than 15,000 homes in the North East and North Yorkshire. Rosie has been the Chief Executive since the organisation formed in 2018 and has a career background in retail, insurance and telecoms.

 

Jackie Mathers
Associate Pro Vice Chancellor, CU Coventry and CU Scarborough

Jackie began her career in the commercial financial sector before moving to education and has over 20 years in both public and private sector higher education. Coventry University established a base in Scarborough in 2016.

 

Lee Kilgour
Principal, Scarborough UTC

Lee Kilgour has been the principal of Scarborough UTC since June 2018. The UTC is an industry backed college for 14-18yr olds seeking a career in STEM related fields and opened its doors in 2016.

 

David Warner
Chair, Coast

David has over 30years experience working in civil society. He relocated to Scarborough 3years ago and is now a Strategic Social Change Advisor working with a range of national funding bodies. He is the current Chair of COAST which is a newly formed partnership of cultural organisations working towards a Coastal Strategy for the region.

 

Sue Anderson-Brown
Manager, Brunswick Shopping Centre

Sue works for CBRE and is the Manager of the Brunswick Shopping Centre in Scarborough. She has a background of commercial and property management experience and has worked in Rotherham, Leeds and York previously.

 

Richard Grunwell

Scarborough Business Ambassadors

Richard is a retired solicitor and used to have his own practice specialising in commercial property and planning policy. He is now a member of the Scarborough Business Ambassadors (SBA) and sits on the SBA sub group for town centres. He is also the Chair of the Coast and Vale Community Action Board which is a local voluntary services support organisation.

 

Gareth Edmunds
External Affairs Director, Anglo American

Anglo American, formerly Sirius Minerals, is a large employer in the Borough of Scarborough with its Woodsmith site located just outside of Whitby. Gareth has led the External Affairs Department at Anglo American since 2010 and has over 16 years’ experience in stakeholder, corporate and strategic communications.

 

Mark Williamson
Area Manager, English Heritage

Mark is the area manager for the Yorkshire Coast group of English Heritage properties which remit includes Whitby Abbey and Scarborough Castle.

 

Steve Bromham
Director, Save9 Ltd

Steve is a Co-founder, Director and IT Consultant at Save9 Ltd - a UK-based cloud computing, rural internet and cyber security services provider based in Scarborough.

 

Ben Gilligan
Area Director, East Yorkshire Buses

Ben is the area director for EYMS which includes Scarborough and district motor services. Ben has 16years experience in the public transport sector.

 

James Goodall
Scarborough Town Centre Team

James is the Director of Goodall Group Ltd, a local (and one of the biggest) private investor and developer of commercial and residential property in Scarborough with over 20yrs experience. James represents the Scarborough Town Centre Team, a group established in 2019 to take forward priorities in Scarborough Town Centre, on the Board.

 

Cllr Reg Towse
Newby and Scalby Parish Council

Cllr Towse is the current Chairman of Newby and Scalby Parish Council which covers an area of 5.13 square miles to the north of Scarborough centre and has a population of just over 9000.

 

Cllr Roberta Swiers
Cayton Parish Council

Cllr Swiers is the current Chairman of Cayton Parish Council which is situated to the south of Scarborough centre and has a population of around 2,328. Cllr Swiers is also the Deputy Mayor of Scarborough.

 

Cllr James Stockdale
Seamer Parish Council

Cllr Stockdale represents Seamer Parish Council which covers the villages of Seamer and Crossgates to the south of central Scarborough.

Whitby Seafoods is one of the biggest employers within the Whitby area. Barry has worked for the company for 6years and has extensive experience of working in the food industry and operations management.

Chair, Whitby Civic Society

Whitby Civic Society is an independent voluntary organisation and registered charity that aims to protect, enhance and celebrate the heritage of Whitby. Dr John Field is the current Chair of the Society.

 

Paul Fellows
Head of Strategic Policy, North York Moors National Park Authority

The NYMNPA looks after the large area of the North York Moors, helping to protect and conserve it, while encouraging people to enjoy and understand how special it is. Paul is the Head of Strategic Policy including the Local Plan.

 

Capt. Ian Vasey
Harbour Master | Port Authority

Ian has worked at Scarborough Borough Council for 19years and has been the Harbour Master for 9years with responsibility for the Port of Whitby.

Cllr Linda Wild
Town Mayor, Whitby Town Council

Whitby Town Council consists of 19 elected members who strive to make Whitby a better place to live, work and play. Cllr Wild lives on the east side of Whitby and is the current Mayor of Whitby.

 

Michael King
Clerk, Whitby Town Council

Michael joined Whitby Town Council as Clerk in June 2020. Michael has extensive experience in research, public policy and managerial positions in both the public and private sectors with skills in programme and project management, corporate governance, public policy, strategy development and performance management.

 

Cllr John Cummins
Hawsker Cum Stainsacre Parish Council
Cllr Cummins is a local farmer in Whitby and represents Hawsker Cum Stainsacre Parish Council which covers the area just south of the centre of Whitby and the villages of Ruswarp and Hawsker and has a population of 790 (2011 census).
