A taste of the coast at the Great Yorkshire Show
Visitors to one of England's biggest agricultural shows will be treated to a taste of the Yorkshire coast next week.
Our Discover Yorkshire Coast team will be exhibiting as part of the Welcome to Yorkshire stand at the 161st Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 July.
The Discover Yorkshire Coast team is joining forces with the people behind The Endeavour Experience, Whitby Gin and W Hamond, the original Whitby Jet shop, to host a ‘Whitby Corner’. They will showcase jewellery making using the highly polished Whitby Jet and The Endeavour Experience will bring the story of Captain Cook to life with interactive activity such as knot making, flags and exhibits or enter the competition for a chance to win a bottle of the award winning Whitby Gin.
Janet Deacon, Scarborough Borough Council Tourism and Corporate Marketing Manager and Area Director for Welcome to Yorkshire said:
"The coast always plays a big part on the prominent Welcome to Yorkshire trade stand at the Great Yorkshire Show and this year is no exception. Following the successful Whitby Fish & Ships Festival in May, we are delighted to be able to shine a spotlight on Whitby as well as promote the many other fantastic attractions, events and experiences on offer along the Yorkshire coast."
The Great Yorkshire Show at Harrogate showground is an iconic three-day event, which celebrates the very best of food, farming and rural life and attracts more than 130,000 people every year.
