Bin collection disruption latest

Friday, 1 December 2017

Snowy conditions in Scarborough and Filey areas yesterday (30 November) resulted in some disruption to our bin collections.

Our advice to anyone that should have had their green/blue bins emptied yesterday or is expecting a collection today, is to leave your bin out for collection and we will get to it as soon as we can. Any green bins missed yesterday will be collected by the end of today (1 December). Blue bins missed yesterday will be collected by the end of tomorrow (2 December).

Due to the disruption to green and blue bin collections, we took the decision yesterday to cancel garden waste (brown bin) collections for the rest of this week across the whole borough i.e. northern and southern areas. We appreciate this week should have been the last garden waste collection of the year so we will ensure missed brown bins are collected on either Monday 4 or Tuesday 5 December. We are unable to say which areas we will get to on each of the days, so please leave your brown bin out by 6am on Monday and it will be emptied by the end of Tuesday.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the disruption to our services.
