On 1 April the single new council for North Yorkshire launched replacing Scarborough Borough Council and other local authorites in North Yorkshire.

Falsgrave Park was built for the community of Falsgrave.
Formerly named Spring Hill, this area runs deep in Scarborough's history.
The park accommodates two water springs that during the 14th century provided water for the Franciscan Friars of Scarborough and the
inhabitants of the Old Town.
