Bridges

On 1 April the single new council for North Yorkshire launched replacing Scarborough Borough Council and other local authorites in North Yorkshire.

Scarborough Borough Council owns and maintains 29 bridges within the borough. These range from structures such as Prospect Hill bridge in Whitby, Manor Road in Scarborough.

The council also owns and maintains various pedestrian-only bridges only such as Vernon Road footbridge, Scarborough and various footbridges found in and around many of the borough’s parks and gardens.

Public Rights of Way bridges

Footbridges on public rights of way are maintained by North Yorkshire County Council’s Countryside Services Public Rights of Way team.
