Our Forward Planning team are responsible for guiding the future development of the borough outside of the North York Moors National Park. The new Local Plan was adopted on 3rd July 2017.

On 1 April the single new council for North Yorkshire launched replacing Scarborough Borough Council and other local authorites in North Yorkshire.
