Northern Gas Networks
Planning a new extension, doing building work or making home improvements? You should check with Northern Gas Networks to see if your gas supply service needs altering prior to starting work. Building over an existing gas pipe contravenes gas industry codes of practice and means your build won't be compliant with pipeline safety regulations, potentially creating an unsafe situation.
If you would like your gas supply altering or a check to see if your work will affect your gas service, visit the NGN website here to learn more.
Alternatively contact NGN's Connections Team on 0800 040 7766 (option 2) to talk through the process.
Anyone who smells gas or suspects carbon monoxide should ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. This line is in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Connect Right Campaign by Yorkshire Water aims to prevent misconnections and raise awareness about drainage and water pollution amongst property owners, the public and professionals. It brings together partners who are working to reduce water pollution. Plumbing and drainage misconnections may be polluting our local rivers and beaches. To check your property is connected right you can download the leaflet below or visit the Connect Right website here to learn more.
Problems with your address?
If your utility provider experiences issues with your address you may need to contact us. Customers often experience reluctance from utility companies to install services where an 'official postal address' has not been allocated. This usually happens when the utility company cannot find your address on their address database. There can be a variety of reasons for this. If you or the utility company are having problems with your address please contact us to explain the problem. Further information on our naming and numbering functions can be found here.
