Salary dependent upon experience
Scarborough Borough Council has already established a reputation for leading the renaissance of Yorkshire and is reversing the trend of decline normally associated with seaside communities in the UK. Investments of over £0.5 billion are improving the quality of life for both residents and visitors within the Borough of Scarborough, delivered through both private and public sources. This level of investment reflects the confidence in the future of the area and the Council’s ability to deliver its ambitions. This together with a further £4.5 billion investment in creating employment points to a very positive future for the area.
Development has a key role to play in improving the quality of life on the Yorkshire Coast and the council’s Planning Services team is helping to lead an exciting period of change across the area. A hugely ambitious Local Plan has been adopted, and this is giving rise to applications for development across the Borough’s coastal towns and villages.
To help us deal with a growing workload, we are looking to potentially recruit a number of Planning Officers, and are keen to hear from candidates with a range of experience across planning disciplines, whether in the early stages of their career or with many years working in planning behind them. We’re looking for dynamic, conscientious individuals, who are team players and possess excellent communication skills.
The three main towns of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey along with the surrounding villages and countryside offer a quality of life that is hard to beat. Affordable housing, good schools and colleges and a profusion of shops and leisure activities coupled with a stunning natural environment and a strong sense of local pride and family values make the Yorkshire Coast a very attractive place to live and work.
So, if you want to be part of our future – to lead change, be creative and deliver significant benefits that really help our communities and visitors – and want to live and work in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, then this really is the perfect opportunity.
