Scarborough Spa is a Grade 2 listed building situated in South Bay, Scarborough. The venue is used for conferences, exhibitions, entertainment, live music and events such as the Scarborough Spa Orchestra and the annual Scarborough Jazz Festival.
With so much going on this is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join the team to assist in the setting up, operating and packing down the wide range of events that the spa hosts each year.
The role
As our General Services Assistant (Technical) you will work with our Technical Supervisor to deliver a high level of technical presentation and customer experience for a wide variety of events. You will also facilitate the technical needs of the corporate clients, productions and events in both pre-production and production periods and will be required to work closely with the Technical Supervisor to deputise as required as well as working as the duty technician when required.

· To assist in the supervision of organisations/theatre companies using the Scarborough Spa, to ensure the safe use of equipment following the necessary health and safety policies, safe working methods and industry good practice. · To assist in the erection of seating, tables and other room set up appetites. · To assist in the daily maintenance of the equipment in the plant rooms and technical areas and to ensure that these areas are kept clear and tidy and free from waste and litter. · Set up and operate sound, lighting, AV and other performance and event technical equipment where required. · Assist in ensuring that the buildings are open and any equipment is ready for use at the designated times. · Erection/dismantling of any stages, platforms, backdrops, scenery, sets etc |
The Spa operates seven days a week so the successful applicant will be required to work weekends and bank holidays on occasion.
