About the vacancy
The Council are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated people to work within the Whitby Pavilion Team, the venue being located on the busy West Cliff area of Whitby.
We are currently looking to appoint a General Service Assistants to help in the day-to-day running and delivery of the facilities, entertainments & functions provided by the Service and to ensure that the front line operation provides excellent customer service.
Reporting to the Venue Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking a range of duties including, basic food preparation, serving of food, beverages/alcoholic drinks, providing a high standard of service delivery to customers and cash handling. You will also ensure that hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained, operating at all times within Food Safety and Health and Safety at work legislation. There will also be a requirement to assist in the setting up and preparation of events and other duties involved in the operation of the venue.
The applicant should have good customer service skills and be able to work flexibly. Whilst previous experience of working in the catering industry would be an advantage it is not essential. The successful applicant will also be required to work weekends and bank holidays.
Our core opening hours will be between 09:00am and 5.00pm but there may also be some evening work to support events at the venue (Covid-19 restrictions dependent).
