Local Support for Council Tax fraud

Local Council Tax Support fraud are investigated by our counter-fraud providers Veritau.

Benefit fraud can include:

  • Making a false statement when applying for benefits, by not providing correct information or omitting any information.
  • Intentionally failing to report a change of circumstances, e.g. a partner moving into a property which receives benefits, or changes to income or total amount of money a person holds whilst they receive benefits.

We rely on members of the public to report all suspected cases of benefit fraud and abuse, and we investigate all reports we receive. Any information you provide can be reported anonymously if you wish.
