As of 30 June 2022, 42,231 payments have been made to households in the Scarborough Borough area totalling £6,334,650.00.

For existing council tax direct debit payers, automatic payment was made to the majority of accounts which credited on either 21, 22 or 25 April 2022.

We will continue to accept applications against eligible properties that have not yet received payment until the scheme closes on 30 September 2022. We will also continue to identify any eligible property for automatic payment that has yet to apply but sets up a new direct debit.

Discretionary Schemes

As part of £150 Energy Rebate Scheme Scarborough Borough Council is administering, the government have made a limited amount of funds available to distribute on a discretionary basis.

We have now approved a policy for discretionary payments to be made in the circumstances as outlined below. These circumstances apply only to those that are not eligible to receive payment under the mandatory criteria. Please note that there is no provision for top-up payments to those who are eligible for the mandatory scheme. When making an application, please ensure you select the link under the category that is applicable to you as any application made under an incorrect category may result in you being unable to proceed when you enter your property reference number.
