We, as the Licensing Authority for Scarborough, Whitby and Filey have launched a public consultation following a comprehensive review of the Cumulative Impact Assessment under the Licensing Act 2003.
It is a requirement that Councils regularly review and update these assessments to ensure they remain relevant and properly reflect the area to which they apply. A comprehensive review of the existing Cumulative Impact Policy which forms part of the Statement of Licensing Policy introduced in 2013 has now taken place; and we are now consulting on the outcomes of the review.
Based on the evidence available so far, the key recommendations following the review are:
- Keep the existing cumulative impact area in respect of Scarborough Town Centre, but reduce it in size.
- Remove the existing cumulative impact area in respect of Whitby Town Centre
We would welcome your comments on these recommendations and our proposals; which are detailed above and in the survey/questionnaire.
