There is currently no application form for you to complete with regards to grants for the national lockdown that came into effect on 5 January 2021.
If you received the one-off grant payment of £1,334, £2,000 or £3,000 covering the previous national lockdown period from 5 November 2020 to 2 December 2020 then you do not need to do anything further provided:
- You continue to be the liable party for Non-Domestic Rates
- You intend to resume business operations once restrictions are relaxed from the property you received the grant for
- You are mandated to close whist lockdown is in effect (closure by choice is not sufficient)
The information provided for the November lockdown scheme will be used to make payment for the current national lockdown on the basis all the above criteria are applicable. If you received a grant payment for the period 5 November 2020 to 2 December 2020, but one or more of the above points are not applicable, then you must contact us immediately to advise on 01723 232378 or e-mail email@example.com outside office hours.
Amount of funding available to businesses
The amount depends on the rateable value of the qualifying premises. Payments will cover a six week period from 5 January 2021 to 16 February 2021 under The Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Scheme. In addition a one-off top-up payment referred to as the Closed Business Lockdown Payment (CBLP) will also be made.

We aim to start releasing payment in respect of the above scheme w/c 18 January 2021 when the necessary funds have been made available to the council.
In the event that the national lockdown is extended beyond the 6 week period, the payment cycle will then be reviewed for payments to continue under LRSG (Closed). It is not expected that those in receipt of the scheme will need to reapply for any subsequent payment periods unless there are any changes to the national scheme guidance which requires us to gather additional information.
Changes in circumstances
It is imperative that if your circumstances change at any point as outlined in the bullet points detailed in the eligibility criteria above, that you must notify us immediately. If you do not notify us of a change and you are paid a grant amount that you are not entitled to, then you will be required to repay any incorrectly paid amounts back.
For Non-Domestic Ratepayers who became responsible for a business premises after 5 November 2020 and were therefore not entitled to a grant payment during the second national lockdown, we will require an application form completing to receive the January 2021 funding. We intend to make this available w/c 1 February 2021.
Additional Restrictions Grants (Discretionary)
As with the mandatory scheme detailed above, those businesses that have already received payment under the Additional Restrictions Grant Scheme covering the November lockdown will be automatically considered for payment for the current lockdown period. If you have submitted an application to us for this scheme from November onwards, then no further action is required and you do not need to submit another application.
As this scheme is discretionary, amounts to be paid cannot yet be publicised until the government announce the level of funding that will be provided.
