The existing Visitor Economy Strategy is now 5 years old and due to COVID and other Macro Environmental changes is in need of a refresh.  Consultation with businesses and key stakeholders has taken place and a first draft strategy is now ready for further consultation.

The strategy sets out key objectives to support growing the visitor economy by extending the season, growing existing markets and attracting new markets.

We would now like to receive comments on the first draft strategy from visitors and residents with a view to adopting the new strategy and action plans early in 2021.

How will the results be used?

  • The results will be used to shape final strategy
  • The strategy will then be taken to cabinet and council for adoption
  • The strategy will be adopted with final document published early 2021 and published on Council website.
  • The final strategy will also be emailed to key stakeholders
