Housing allocations - information and advice
The local authority is responsible for providing information and
support for local citizens on the process of applying for council
accommodation. This may include publication of the housing
register, information on allocation priorities, advice on how to
apply etc.
The Council transferred all its housing stock to Yorkshire Coast
Homes in late 2003 and as such have no houses of our own. We are
however still required to maintain a Housing Register (or Waiting
List) in the Borough. It is through nominations from that Register
that Housing Association tenancies are allocated across the
Borough.
Yorkshire Coast Homes currently manage that Housing Register
on our behalf and allocate housing association properties, from the
list in accordance with a points scheme.
If you are in housing need and wish to apply for a Housing
Association home then you will need to complete an application
form. These are available either from Yorkshire Coast Homes or can
be downloaded from this web page.
