As a true Scarborian, born and bred, I have to pinch myself at the fantastic things that have been happening to my home town in the last few years. It has created a real feel good factor that is tangible right across the town.

Cllr Derek Bastiman

Adopted Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP)

The Biodiversity Action Plan plays a role in the conservation and enhancement of local habitats and species which have been identified as important.

The BAP has been adopted by both the Scarborough Biodiversity Action Group and by Scarborough Borough Council.

In the Related Documents are the links to the individual elements of the BAP. These include introductory sections, action plans for both habitats and species, guidance notes and appendices. Also included are the technical appendices which detail the actions and targets for improving biodiversity in the Scarborough area.

If you are interested in promoting biodiversity within your own property, the sections on 'Getting Involved' and 'Guidance Note on Gardens' will be of particular interest. Please feel free to contact the Council if you have any comments or queries on the information contained within these documents.  For information on the UK Biodiversity Action Plan please visit www.ukbap.org.uk.
