Funeral - records

The Registrar's Office maintains burial and cremation records for all cemeteries in the area. Citizens may apply to the Registrar to search burial and cremation records.

Why search records?

Many people require searches of the records because they have forgotten where a relative’s grave is or cremated remains are strewn but most searches are carried out for people involved in compiling their family trees.

Cemetery records

The registers for Woodlands, Dean Road and Manor Road Cemeteries in Scarborough and Larpool Lane Cemetery in Whitby are held at Woodlands Crematorium on Scarborough.
Registers for churchyards are normally held at the church.
Requests for searches may be made in person, by telephone, by post or e-mail.
All registers are available to be viewed by the public during office hours.

Crematorium records
