Fishing information
The current fleets at Whitby and Scarborough Harbours are made
up of keel boats, cobles, other fishing craft and salmon
cobles. Most landings are made via the fish auction markets
provided.
Visiting fishing vessels are welcome to use our harbour and
facilities and charges are as laid down in the schedule of dues and
charges for either port. Most commercial fishing vessels have
an agent who handles their business affairs.
Whitby has all the usual facilities expected by the fishing
industry including a shellfish holding facility and bait
store.
