Houseboats

Whitby Harbour

Houseboats are permitted within Whitby Harbour and are treated the same as any other private craft.  Permission should be sought from the Borough Harbour Master in writing before bringing a houseboat into any harbour area.

Vessels which are lived upon and treated as a houseboat must apply for a berth in the normal manner and follow all standard procedures.  Size and type of vessel are restricted by normal berthing arrangements within the Harbour area.  Houseboats are often of similar type and style to a river narrow boat and this type of vessel cannot be accommodated in our port areas.

Scarborough and Filey

Scarborough Harbour and Filey Coble Landing are unsuitable for houseboats.
