Postal vote packs issued for PCC election
We are issuing postal vote
packs this week to residents across the Borough of Scarborough
ahead of the Police and Crime Commissioner election on 15
November.
Anyone receiving a postal vote pack needs to ensure that their
vote is returned using the pre-paid envelope provided as soon as
possible. Anyone not casting their postal vote until the day of the
election should ensure it is returned in person to the Town Hall on
St Nicholas Street in Scarborough by 10.00pm on 15 November.
Voters wanting to find out more about the candidates standing
for election in the North Yorkshire Police area, Julia Mulligan
(Conservative Party) and Ruth Potter (Larbour Party), should visit
the Home Office website www.choosemypcc.org.uk
The candidates also have their own websites www.juliamulligan.org.uk and
www.ruthpotter.co.uk
which contain more information. Any voter that does not have access
to the internet can call freephone number 0800 107 0708, which is
an automated system, to request information. Our elections
office and staff at polling stations are not allowed to give
information or enter into discussions about either of the
candidates.
Poll card letters were issued two weeks ago to electors who are
eligible to vote. Anyone who hasn’t received their poll card letter
should contact the elections office to check that they are
registered. Polling stations will be open on 15 November from 7.00
am until 10.00pm. Voters should take their poll card letter with
them when they go to vote as this will allow staff to manage voters
more efficiently.
