Adult learning in Filey

The Evron Centre, FileyFiley Evron Centre is hosting a number of education courses for adults from September.

 

They include an ‘Improve Your Drawing and Painting Skills’ course on Tuesday 18 September from 1pm to 4pm to beginners’ Italian on Wednesday 19 September from 10am to 12.30pm.

 

There is also a beginners’ computer course at Filey Library on Tuesday 18 September from 9.30am to 11.30am and courses in Aqua Fit, ‘Swimming for Beginners’ and ‘Swimming for Leisure’ are also available.

 

An information and enrolment session was due to take place today (Wednesday 22 August) from 11am to 2pm at Filey Library for anyone interested in adult learning.

 

Some people may even be entitled to learn from as little as £10 and others may be able to access the computer course for free if they need to gain skills to improve their job prospects.

 

Evron Centre Operations Manager, Phil Armitage, said: “The course to improve drawing and painting skills at the Evron Centre has proved hugely popular in the past. The course is held in room 21 and is delivered in a relaxed atmosphere with magnificent views across the Bay of Filey.

 

“The beginners’ Italian is a brand new course introduced to the Evron Centre and is receiving a lot of interest from the community. We aim to work closely with North Yorkshire County Council’s Adult Learning and Skills Service to identify future courses to be held at the centre.”

 

People who are interested in one of the courses can call 0845 034 9579 or call in and talk to a member of the team at Talbot House, 11-13 Queen Street. The opening times are 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays.
