Filey's flying!
The Friends of Filey Parks look set for some flying
fun at a kite-flying morning on Saturday (23 June) from 10am until
noon.
The chairman of the volunteer group, Brenda
Kerrison, is hoping lots of people will turn out for the event in
the Top Field and have a go.
She said: “As volunteers, we work hard all
year round helping to maintain Filey’s beautiful parks and open
spaces, so the kite flying morning is a chance for us to let our
hair down a bit, put down the spades and forks and pick up the kite
strings!
“It’s a great hobby for anyone of any age
and any fitness, so come along and enjoy a breath of fresh air and
take in the wonderful views over Filey Bay at the same time.”
Participants are able to bring their own
kites to fly or there will be an opportunity to make kites on the
day for a small donation to cover the cost of materials.
