'Friendly' table-top sale in Filey
A dedicated band of
volunteers will be holding a Spring table-top sale next Saturday
(12 May) at the Evron Centre in Filey, from 10am to noon.
Members of The Friends of Filey Parks, who
work hand in glove with Scarborough Borough Council’s parks and
gardens staff, are raising money to fund their volunteer work,
which helps keep the town’s open spaces in pristine condition.
There will be an opportunity to browse for
books and gifts and the hugely popular cake stall will be open for
business.
The raffle and tombola will be raising
funds for the volunteers to help keep Filey’s Parks and Gardens in
prime condition in this important year when the town is
representing Yorkshire in the national final of the Britain in
Bloom competition.
Brenda Kerrison, chairman of the friends
group, is hoping for a bumper turnout of support and is looking
forward to meeting friends, old and new, for coffee and
refreshments during the morning.
“Every penny we raise goes towards looking
after our beautiful gardens so please come along and support us at
this event,” she said.
