Whitby Leisure Centre fundraises for Sport Relief

Whitby Leisure Centre is running a series of fundraising
activities from Monday 19 March to Sunday 25 March for Sport
Relief. There are lots of activities to get involved with to raise
money for this great cause. Collection boxes will be at reception
where there will be games to play throughout week.
On Friday 23 March ‘TGI Friday’, the leisure centre’s club for
over 8’s will be running three miles before their usual splash
session in the pool. Seals swimming club members will also be
getting in the spirit of things during their training session.
Adult teams can enter ‘Takeshi’s Krypton Wipeout Challenge’, a
fast fun competition including unusual skill categories as well as
races and shootouts, the fun starts at 5.45pm. The winning team
will be given a month’s free membership to the centre you can enter
from Monday 19 March at reception. Teams of 4 can enter for a fee
of £1 per person, all contenders welcome.
If you feel your strengths lie in the brains department join in
at the Rifle Club at 9.30pm, where the leisure centre is running
the Sport Relief Quiz. Entry is just £1 per person maximum teams of
6. With great prizes and the chance to socialise afterwards this is
one event not to be missed.
The official Sport Relief Mile event is being held at Caedmon
school on Sunday 25 March, but the Sunday Club for adults with
learning difficulties will host the last event of the weekend, with
activities at their sports and social evening. New people and
volunteers all welcome between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.
