Election for Stakesby Ward of Whitby Town Council

An election ballot box9 January

 

Following a request from Whitby Town Council an election for two outstanding vacancies for the Stakesby Ward will take place on Thursday 16 February 2012.

 

Anyone wishing to stand as a candidate will require a nomination pack and should contact:

 

  • Scarborough Borough Council’s Elections Office, Town Hall, St Nicholas Street, Scarborough, YO11 2HG, telephone 01723 232309
  • Scarborough Borough Council’s Customer First Office, Skinner Street, Whitby, or
  • The Clerk to Whitby Town Council, Pannett Park, YO21 1RE, telephone 01947 820227

 

Nomination papers must be completed and returned to Scarborough Borough Council’s Returning Officer in Scarborough (they cannot be handed in at Whitby) no later that 12 noon on Friday 20 January 2012.

 

Anyone who is unable to get to a polling station can register to vote by post by completing and returning the necessary forms, available from the Elections Office, by 5.00pm on Wednesday 1 February 2012. Similarly anyone wishing to cancel an existing postal vote arrangement must do so by 1 February 2012 and anyone who has just moved to the area still has time to register to vote in the elections as the deadline to apply is also 1 February 2012.
