Elections Staff
Staff who work in the polling stations are employed by the
Returning Officer. Anyone who is over the age of 18 can apply
to work on a polling station and would need to complete an
application form and provide proof of their citizenship
to comply with the Asylum and Immigration Acts. Polling staff
cannot be appointed if they are related to a prospective candidate
or have worked on a candidate's behalf during an election
campaign.
