Reighton and Speeton gardens
19 July

Gardens in Reighton and Speeton will soon be judged in the Bloom
group’s second annual Best Kept Gardens competition.
Gardens from across the villages, ranging from front and back
residential spaces to ‘children’s patches,’ have entered into the
In Bloom initiative.
The entries will be judged later this month by Scarborough
Borough Council’s Community Environment Assistant, Sheila
Johnson.
Paul Riley, Secretary for the Bloom group, said:
“The competition is bringing the villages together. We are a
young Bloom group and this is just one of many projects that we
hope to run to get people involved.
‘We will announce the results at an awards presentation to be
held in September, where winners will receive certificates for
their efforts.”
Everyone is welcome to the awards evening, where refreshments
and entertainment will be provided. It will be held in the Village
Hall on 21 September at 7pm.
