Summer fair for Mayoress’ Community Fund
18 July

The Mayoress’ Community Fund Committee is holding its annual
summer fair extravaganza at Scarborough’s Town Hall on Tuesday 2
August.
The event which starts at 2pm raises funds which at the end of
the mayoral year get shared out to local charities, groups and
organisations within the borough.
This year’s event will be opened by Tony Peers and his girls,
with Scarborough town crier, Alan Booth MBE on hand to welcome
visitors into the civic reception in St Nicholas Street,
Scarborough.
Stallholders will be selling afternoon tea, arts and crafts,
bottles, plus much more, there will also be a tombola, raffle and
games.
Bonnie Purchon MBE, Secretary of the Mayoress’ Community Fund is
co-ordinating the event:
“The summer fair is just one of the annual fundraising events
organised by the Mayoress’ Community Fund committee members to help
raise money for local worthwhile organisations which help the whole
community in some way or another.
“We hope that this year’s event will prove as popular as
previous years, if you haven’t attended before this is a great
chance to not only help the community by making a donation but also
a chance to see inside the historic Town Hall.”
