Chefs to help make Seafest sizzle
A sizzling line-up of
renowned chefs will put their skills on show at this year’s Seafest
maritime festival in Scarborough.
Among them will be Steph Moon, Chef
Consultant at Rudding Park, Harrogate, who was a contestant in this
year’s Great British Menu TV competition.
Steph, who is an expert forager and has a
food consultancy business of her own, will be showing visitors to
Scarborough’s West Pier, how best to pack a punch from seafood.
Other chefs taking part in this year’s
festival are Dan Hargreaves, the head chef at Scarborough’s
Restaurant@SJT and National Seafood Chef of the Year Rob Green, who
is the chef owner of the award-winning Green’s Restaurant in
Whitby.

Edge
Matthew Asquith of award winning Whitby
Seafish sharpens the knives ready to show us just how easy it is to
prepare freshly caught local fish ready for some tempting
dishes
11.30am – Teaching Us A Thing Or
Two
Inspired by our unique Scarborough coast
line and wild produce, Rob Clark, tutor at Yorkshire Coast College,
will be introducing you to hand foraged foods and ways of preparing
and cooking them, using minimal effort but with maximum impact,
that will open your mind to wild produce on our doorstep
12.30pm - A Touch of
Drama
Dan Hargreaves, Head Chef at the
Restaurant@SJT puts local coastal produce centre stage. Dan puts a
unique twist on the menu by complementing the theatre’s current
production with specially created dishes. The catch of the day will
be the star of the show
1.30pm – A Fresh Angle on
Fish
Rob Green, National Seafood Chef of the
Year and chef owner of award winning Green’s Restaurant, Whitby,
will bring us the best local fish and seafood and turn them into
tantalising dishes with a big Wow factor
2.30pm - Steph Moon
Chef consultant at Rudding Park,
Harrogate, and this year’s Great British Menu contestant,
Steph shows us why she loves local seafood, and how best to pack a
punch of flavour into our Catch. Fresh fish and fresh ideas with
some fun along the way
3.30pm - Yorkshire Coast College
Competition
Level 3 students will be battling it out in
a fish frenzy, using locally sourced ingredients to produce the
best that Scarborough has to offer. With Tutor Rob Clark’s Level 3
students reaching the final at Young’s seafood chef of the year
competition, these chefs definitely know their fish

will bring us the best local fish and seafood and turn them into
tantalising dishes with a big Wow factor
11.30am - Giorgio
Alessio
Chef Owner of Lanterna Ristorante
entertains you with his Italian Piedmont region style cookery that
he has become so well known for at his restaurant in Scarborough.
Giorgio show us how to make the most of our catch of the day, with
lots of good humour and knowledge guaranteed
12.30pm - Steph Moon

Act

Restaurant, Whitby, and Matthew Asquith of Whitby Seafish prepare
and cook up some tantalising fish and seafood dishes, with a fair
bit of banter completing the mix
