Money Matters reminder
The first of two events to give residents the
opportunity to find out about North Yorkshire Credit Union (NYCU)
and the Citizens Advice Bureau will take place tomorrow in
Scarborough town centre. The two organisations have joined forces
with Scarborough Borough Council to give out practical advice and
explain what services they can offer local people. The Citizens
Advice Bureau will also be providing information to anyone worrying
about debt.
Julie Knight, NYCU’s Project Officer for Scarborough said:
"We’re a not-for-profit organisation for people who live in
North Yorkshire offering easy accessible savings accounts and low
cost, affordable loans.
"At this time of year people may be interested in starting a
Christmas savings account or how about a loan for white goods – for
£499 Co-Op Electricals will deliver a full size fridge freezer,
washing machine and cooker to your door.
"Don’t be sucked in by high interest, high street offers, come
and see us first."
The information stand will be situated on Westborough, in front
of the Brunswick Centre. Another event will be held at the same
location on Wednesday 20 July.
