As part of the ‘Street Safe’ scheme another free music event for youngsters is being held at Scarborough Spa on Friday 6 May, starting at 7pm and ending at 11pm.

Following on from the success of January’s music event, the Street Safe scheme, delivered by the Safer Communities Partnership (a joint agency initiative) is holding a second music event for Scarborough’s most talented young musicians.

The gig will feature a mix of established acts and up and coming stars of the area and will provide a showcase for young people as well as encouraging them to try new activities and take advantage of exciting opportunities.

Sandra Rees, Scarborough Borough Council’s Community Health and Safeguarding Officer said:

“The event is set to be a wonderful performance of our local youth music talent with different music styles to appeal to all tastes. It will give young people an opportunity to see just one example of the activities available to them in their spare time.

“There will also be a number of stalls offering advice and information on a wide range of issues that matter to them.”

Free buses are available to and from the event and will pick up from both Colescliffe shops in Barrowcliff at 6.45pm and at Eastfield Shops in Eastfield, at 6.45pm.
