Spa hosts magic convention
The Northern Magic
Circle will pull some rabbits out of the hat at its annual
convention at Scarborough Spa this weekend.
Between 150 and 200 of its members are
expected at the convention with families boosting those numbers
even further.
There will be two shows open to the public
– this Saturday there will be a Children’s Showtime which will
feature some of the UK’s best children’s entertainers including the
current Magic Circle Young Magician of the Year, Michael
Jordon.
The whole weekend culminates on Sunday
evening with the All Star Gala Show which will feature some of the
best magicians from the world of magic, including direct from the
Magic Castle, America’s Thom Peterson; the current world champion
of parlour magic Marc Oberon; from Australia the elegant magic of
Jay Scott-Berry; regular Las Vegas performer Luke Jermay; the
astounding magic of award-winning junior performer Ben Proos;
laughs a plenty from Ian Keable; the amazing juggling skills of Mat
Ricardo; and Sweden’s award-winning magician Tom Stone.
Northern Magic Circle spokesman Alan
Mylecraine said: “We’re really excited to be coming to Scarborough.
There’ll be a wonderful atmosphere among old friends and the shows
open to the public should be well worth coming to.”
