Revised collections over bank holiday
The council's
Environmental Services team is urging residents to make sure
they know when their refuse and recycling bins will be collected
over the up and coming bank holiday period.
Paul Thompson, Waste Operations Manager said:
"The bank holidays mean many residents' bins will be collected a
day early. We are encouraging residents to take note of their
revised dates because the changes start as early
as Saturday 16 April for some residents."
All households in the
borough have previously received a calendar for the full year with
collection dates on. The revised collection arrangements are also
available on the council’s website at: http://www.scarborough.gov.uk/
alternatively you can contact Customer First on 01723 232323 and
listen to an automated voice message of your collection days.
Residents are reminded to have their refuse available at the
boundary of their property by 7am on the correct collection
day.
Plastic Easter egg packaging can be recycled in residents’ blue
bins or sacks along with any cardboard. Please remember not to
include any foil as this is non-recyclable and should be placed in
your green bin.
"We are also encouraging those holding street parties to celebrate
the Royal wedding to try to recycle as much of their party waste as
possible," Paul added.
