Census 2011

Get
up-to-date information directly from the ONS web-site
Every ten years a census is carried out in
England and Wales to produce an accurate estimate of the
population.
Census statistics are vital to help plan for
the future and are used to support public policy, help plan local
services and decide the allocation of resources to public
services.
It is therefore essential that the census
information returned for the Borough of Scarborough is as accurate
as possible to ensure our area gets the correct level of funding to
meet its needs.
The body responsibility for carrying out the
2011 Census is the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The
Borough Council is working in partnership with this body to ensure
the Census information for the Borough is as complete and accurate
as possible.
