Recycle paper.A blue recycling bin and sack.Magazines

Recycle magazines in your blue bin or sack. Alternatively, you could give these to Doctor's and dental surgeries, hairdressers and nursing homes. 

 


Marine Flares

North Yorkshire County Council can advise on the safe disposal of marine flares.


Recycle textiles.Material

Medicines

Please take expired or unused medicines back to the pharmacist for safe disposal. Medicines are categorised as Hazardous waste.


Metals

Recycle telecoms and computers.Mobile Phones

Recycle mobile phones at special banks located in the Customer First Centres (Scarborough, Whitby and Filey). 

 

Mobile phone shops will generally accept these back, and a lot of charities will recycle mobile phones.

 

You can also have your old mobile phone collected from your doorstep by contacting the Rag n Phone man

Musical instruments 

Good quality, unwanted musical instruments can be donated to your local charity shop or use online networks such as Freecycle or ebay to pass on or sell goods.

 

If these are broken or unsuitable for reuse please dispose of in your green bin.
