Energy saving tips event

Advice on how to save money and the
environment will be available in the old Stationary Box shop
premises located upstairs in the Brunswick Centre in Scarborough
town centre, from 10am until 4pm on Friday 7 November 2008.
Staff from the Energy Efficiency Advice
Centre, Scarborough Borough Council, and organisations such as
Yorkshire Coast Homes, will be available to give advice about
reducing energy use in the home, reducing the costs of driving and
giving out free low energy light-bulbs.
Staff will also be on hand to answer
questions and provide advice about recycling within the
Borough.
The event has been organised by the North
Yorkshire Community Partnership’s Emissions Working Group. Jo
Ireland, the council's Community Partnership Manager, who chairs
the group said:
“We want to provide people with an easy way
to get reliable advice and information about how to save money and
be a little bit greener too. People can pop in at any time
during the day and pick up information about reducing energy,
driving costs and recycling.”
Information will also be available about
action that organisations and businesses locally are taking to
reduce carbon emissions and save money.
