Navigation and berthing

The Harbour Authority has a responsibility towards all vessels entering or leaving the harbours and any vessel movements within.

Safe berthing is available for commercial and leisure craft and Scarborough Borough Council operates its own dredging plant and as far as possible maintains the ports charted depths.

All navigational aids are port owned and maintained to Trinity House standards.  Whitby and Scarborough have CCTV coverage and a 24 hr watchkeeping system.
