How do I recycle batteries?

Batteries are potentially hazardous to the environment if landfilled, they can pollute watercourses as they leak their highly toxic contents.

You can  recycle your houshold batteries at the following Customer First Centres:

  • Evron Centre in Filey,
  • Skinner Street in Whitby
  • Town Hall in Scarborough.

...and many more places around the Borough. Find your nearest battery recycling point.

Working in partnership with RB Markets Ltd who also collect electrical items we have expanded our battery collection sites.

Why not bring your old mobile phones and printer cartridges which can be recycled at the Customer First Centres?

Top tip: Buy rechargeable batteries that way you can keep reusing them!
