Land Stability-Geotechnical Support
For new
developments that are on or adjacent to land which is known or
suspected to be unstable, a report by an appropriately qualified
engineer shall be submitted giving details of how land conditions
are to be dealt with during the course of the development.
Where the reports show that there is potential for instability
details of arrangements for monitoring of ground water shall be
submitted together with details of any necessary remediation
details to prevent future landslips.
Further advice can be found in
PPG14 “Development on Unstable Land”.
