Portal, We encourage this type of application, the
benefits include:
- no printing and postage costs

- calculate and pay the fee online
You can still make applications in paper to the Planning
Office. All applications cannot be processed without the
correct form, fee and relevant supporting information.
Please check that you have everything you need before submitting
your application. More information on each of these
subjects is available from the links below.
Do I need planning permission?
If you are unsure whether alterations to your home requires
planning permission you can complete our
Do I need Planning
Permission? form. We will then check whether your
proposal will need planning permission and advise you
accordingly.
This check is provided for a fee of £25.
For non-domestic enquiries please see our Pre-application advice page.
The Planning Portal's interactive house and
terrace
guides provide easy access to information on many common
householder projects. You should still check with the
Planning Department to see if planning permission is required.
It makes good sense to do this - for your own peace of mind; for
record purposes when selling property; when raising the money; or
to show anyone who questions your right to build.
