Latest Progress on Local Plan (formerly LDF)

The following is a timetable of where current Local Plan documents are up to and a timetable of the most likely release dates for new publications.

The Council is changing its approach towards plan preparation in light of Government changes to the planning system. As a consequence the Council is merging its work on the Core Strategy and the Community, Environment and Economy DPD into a 'Local Plan'. Progress with LDF/Local Plan Documents

Core Strategy DPD

Consultation was carried out in late 2007 on the housing elements ("Issues and Options") of the Core Strategy following consultation on the "Preferred Options" document, published in September 2006. In November 2009 we carried out the "Preferred Options" Consultation on the Core Strategy.

Housing Allocations DPD

The revised "Issues and Options" consultation on the Housing Allocations DPD was undertaken in August / September 2007, concurrently with housing issues relevant to the Core Strategy. As a result of further sites being submitted for consideration an additional stage of consultation took place in February / March 2008. Since then any further housing sites submitted have been made available for comments on the Council's website. In November 2009 we carried out the "Preferred Options" Consultation on the Housing Allocations.
