Scarborough & District Crime & Disorder Survey

The period for this consultation has now ended.  The analysis of the consultation is now taking place and results will be posted on the website shortly.

Background

Safer Communities Partnership logoThe Safer Communities Partnership is the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership for the Borough of Scarborough.

Formed in 1999 following the Crime and Disorder Act (1998), the Partnership is a multi-agency partnership, comprising statutory and voluntary organisations, and the private sector, working together to reduce crime and disorder, and improve safety and the quality of life of those living, working and visiting the Borough.

The Partnership believes that everyone has the right to live within a safe and tolerant society and that everyone has a responsibility to behave in a way that respects this right.

Consultation Summary

The Partnership is currently undertaking a review of its Crime, Disorder & Substance Misuse Strategy 2005-08 and planning for the next three years.

As part of this exercise we would like to ensure as many members of the public as possible are consulted and given the opportunity to tell us about their main crime and disorder concerns and how safe they feel in their neighbourhoods.

The response will be used along with crime information from the Police and other partners to inform our priorities for the next three years, making sure we do our best to concentrate on the issues that will help people feel safer and reduce the risk of them becoming victims of crime.
