Local Plan (formerly Local Development Framework)

Scarborough Borough Council had been working on the preparation of a Local Development Framework (LDF) to replace the present Borough Local Plan. The Council had prioritised preparation of a Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) and Housing Allocations DPD and these will now be combined into a single Local Plan.

Whitby Business Park Area Action Plan - Draft for Consultation April 2013

Consultation is now ongoing on the draft Whitby Business Park Area Action Plan. This consultation period will run until Friday 14th June 2013. More information is available via the Council's page on Area Action Plans.

Consultation - Delivering Housing in the Borough

Scarborough Borough Council has recently consulted on options for the overall level of housing to be provided in the Scarborough Borough Local Plan to 2030. The issue of how much housing should be planned for across the Borough is one of the most fundamental elements of the Local Plan.

The formal consultation exercise for the Housing Paper "Delivering Housing in the Borough: Developing an Objective Assessment of Housing Needs within Scarborough Borough" has now formally ended. Paper copies of the consultation documents are available for inspection at local libraries and council offices. On request, documents will be made available in large copy print, audio cassette, Braille or languages other than English.
