As a true Scarborian, born and bred, I have to pinch myself at the fantastic things that have been happening to my home town in the last few years. It has created a real feel good factor that is tangible right across the town.

Filey in Bloom

Beautiful flowerbeds complement the Bandstand at Filey

Filey has experienced many changes from its time as a Roman harbour through to the present day with a rich reputation for a peaceful, traditional holiday resort, and the Filey in Bloom group actively seek to maintain and enhance Filey's natural environment.

The In Bloom group has representatives from a number of bodies such as the Rotary Club, Allotments and Tourism, members of the community, Friends of Filey Parks, and is closely supported by Filey Town Council and Scarborough Borough Council.

Regular meetings are held, with regular events from Be Nice to Nettles Day and Teddy Bear's Picnics through to bulb planting and raising awareness of safety in the garden.
