Evron Centre - Filey
The Evron Centre is an attractive multi-purpose venue
offering a range of facilities for both businesses and the
community. Located on John Street, overlooking the beautiful Bay of
Filey and surrounded by pleasant gardens, the centre provides
a unique facility for Filey.

Originally a convent school (1904-1969), the Centre was named
after "The Sisters of Evron", an order of Nuns originating from
Evron near LeMans in Western France.
The venue has since seen many alterations and additions, the
most recent in 2001, which saw the introduction of eighteen
Business Start-up Units, Scarborough Borough Council's cash
payments office and a new building offering services as a Tourist
Information / Visitors Centre.
Although there have been many alterations, the building has
managed to retain its heritage, hosting an annual convention of the
"Filey Convent Old Girls Association", members of which represent
ex-pupils and Nuns that were once resident.
The following facilities are provided within the Evron Centre:
Business Centre
The Business Centre has been designed to provide new or young
businesses with an up to date environment and comprehensive support
facilities. There are 18 rooms available to let, on 'easy in, easy
out' terms, at very competitive prices.
Community Centre
Many groups and organisations use the community rooms for their
meetings. If you are a member of a group or organisation that are
looking for a regular meeting place, or just an occasional room for
a rehearsal or practice then the Evron Centre is for you.
Concert Hall
Currently the only Arts venue in the town, a wide variety
of art and entertainment events are available at the concert
hall. The Hall is also available for private hire.
