As a true Scarborian, born and bred, I have to pinch myself at the fantastic things that have been happening to my home town in the last few years. It has created a real feel good factor that is tangible right across the town.

Regeneration

Regeneration plays a key role in the social and economic renaissance of the Borough by means of attracting investment and external funding and helping to facilitate an overall improvement in the quality of life of residents, visitors and businesses.

Regeneration is now delivered through the Regeneration & Planning Service following a restructure of Council services in early 2008. The combining of Regeneration and Planning was fundamental, underpinning the importance of planning as a key tool to deliver regeneration activity.

 

The Regeneration & Planning Service has a key role to play in the delivery of community and corporate priorities, through it’s overall aim “To strengthen the local economy by creating an environment favourable for growth and investment and by broadening the area’s economic base.”
