Age clarification for those purchasing Open Air Theatre tickets
Further to reports we have
received regarding confusion over the age of young people able to
purchase tickets on Saturday for the Olly Murs event at the Open
Air Theatre, we would like to issue the following statement:
Brian Bennett, Scarborough Borough Council's Head of Tourism and
Culture said:
"We would like to confirm that all young people under the age of 14
have to be accompanied by an adult when attending any event at the
Open Air Theatre. Therefore we are unfortunately unable to
sell tickets directly to those under the age of 14. All
tickets for this age group must be purchased by an adult. We
apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, particularly as we
appreciate that both Olly Murs and JLS attract a younger
audience. We advise any young people that are aged 14 and
above, but may look younger, to take along identification proving
their date of birth if they are planning to purchase tickets on
Sunday for JLS.
"Demand for the Olly Murs tickets on Saturday was very high and we
are predicting the same for JLS on Sunday. However, anyone
who misses out on these opportunities will still be able to
purchase tickets online from Monday morning via www.ticketmaster.co.uk"
