Domestic Waste Bulky Collections
A domestic collection will be made from any property
where Council Tax is paid, a collection charge may be levied for
certain types of wastes.
There are two categories of bulky
waste items that we collect: Hazardous and Non
Hazardous. Please see below for details of how we
collect these items.
Hazardous
Scarborough Borough Council, working in
partnership with R. B. Markets, are now offering a free
collection service for waste electrical (Hazardous) bulky items
from households throughout the Borough.

(Collections will be made within 14 days).
Non Hazardous
The cost for the collection of up to 3 Non Hazardous bulky items
is £22.00. Please note that in the Scarborough area (inc
Filey and surrounding villages), we collect on a Thursday. In
Whitby and the surrounding villages north of Ravenscar, please
refer to the calendar booking schedule within the
web-form.
For collections of more than 3 items per type, please fill out
the enquiry form and a Customer First advisor will contact you on
the next working day

What is classed as a Hazardous
Item: (Please note that only RB Markets are able to collect these
items)
- Any electrical or electronic item that
may no longer be used, or is surplus to requirements that is
normally found within the home, for example fridges, televisions,
computers, toasters and vaccuum cleaners .
What is classed as a Non Hazardous
Item: (also shows how many articles class as ‘1’ item)

Terms and Conditions
The Collection:
Items for collection need to be placed outside
your residence in an easily accessible position by 7.00 a.m. on the
day booked for collection.
We cannot come into your residence to collect
any items.
Items such as carpets and mattresses should be
protected from wet weather.
The collection crew will only remove the items
detailed on your online booking form.
If you wish to add an item you must contact us
within 48 working hours prior to the agreed scheduled date of
collection.
Cancellation:
In the event of a cancellation you must notify
the Council, giving a minimum of 48 working hours prior to the
agreed scheduled date of collection.
If the Council is forced to cancel the booking
for reasons outside of its control it will give you as much notice
of the cancellation as reasonably possible and an alternative
collection date will be agreed.
